After the Hanshin Tigers (阪神タイガース) won the 1985 Japan series (日本シリーズ)to become the champions of Japan, some overzealous fans decided to dump a statue of Col. Sanders (they stand in front of all the KFCs here in Japan) cursing the much beloved Tigers to a lifetime of sadness. Much like the "curse of the Bambino" for the Bo-Sox, and the goat thing for the Cubs. Today is a day to celebrate! I didn't catch the whole story but a guy (I think a city employee) was trolling the Dotonbori River and came across what he thought was a big drum of some kind but when he pulled it up, he found none other than the famed statue of Mr. Sanders. Tigers fans across the world thank this guy for his diligence.In other news, some playlists for you! I woke up at the godforsaken hour of 9:30 this morning and thus I listened to all the new podcasts before I was out the door.
